Welcome to the RXP Gold Assistant’s Guide to farming Chunks o’ Mammoth with Skinning in The Storm Peaks.

This meat can be farmed from most mammoths around Northrend, but the best grind for it can be unlocked after finishing the questline to unlock Sons of Hodir faction. At that point packs of mammoths start running around the valley in front of their base

You should focus on killing two roaming packs east and west of the cave, and in between those packs spawning you can pull and kill mammoth and jormungar mobs, focus on either one if you know the value of skins/meat is higher. We hope you enjoy our guide and good luck farming.

Expected items: Chunk o’ Mammoth, Worm Meat, Borean Leather, Jormungar Scale, Green items(can be disenchanted or sold).

Rare loot: Arctic Fur.

Be prepared

Make sure you empty out your bags and stock up on food and water before you start on this farm if you plan on going for any extended period of time.

Know your target

Mammoths are heavily populated in this area, both as roaming herds and single mobs dotting the area alongside jormungar worms. You should focus on the two roaming packs and fill in rest of the time by trying to group up single mobs to force respawn.

Competition

This is one of nicer farms to grind for leather and mammoth meat, and even though its a big area try to keep an eye out for the competition.
