Welcome to the RXP Gold Assistant’s Guide to Turtle Scales and Thick Leather farm in Tanaris.

This farm takes place in zone of Tanaris along eastern coast killing Steeljaw Snappers, levels ranging 42-43. You can start skinning here from skill level 215. There is vendor on the docks for easy restocking and selling trash. We hope you enjoy our guide and good luck farming.

Expected Items: Turtle Scale, Thick Leather, Heavy Leather, Thick Hide, Heavy Hide and green items along with very rarely Golden Pearl.

Be prepared

Make sure you empty out your bags, stock up on food and water and repair before you start on this farm if you plan on going for any extended period of time.

Route

Your route is very simple. Run along the coast and kill any snappers you see.

Extra profit

Make sure to open all Big-mouth Clam you find for a chance on Golden Pearl, on average you will get one every 4 hours of farming. Very small drop chance but still worth a try.
